January 2019: News, Updates, and Upcoming Events

Message from Director of Operations Julie Stromberg

2018 was a record breaking year for our movement as 117 women won federal office across the United States in November 2018. However, the glass ceiling is far from shattered. We have to take our momentum to the next level and make 2020 a landmark year in the history of women in U.S. politics. We have to work even harder. We have to fight harder for greater change --- including more equal representation. We have to continue fighting for our rights --- including our reproductive rights.

As we usher into the new year, NWPC LA Westside is ready to take on that challenge and motivated to lead to break more records in 2020. We begin this new chapter for NWPC LA Westside with a new Board dedicated to furthering our mission of encouraging more pro-choice women to run for office --- and win! With more training, networking, and educational events, we hope to empower more of our members to take their activism to the next level. However, this needs to be a team effort. We need our members to help steer our battleship to our destination by telling us what they want from NWPC LA Westside and to be active participants in the process. We want to be the change with you. We look forward to working with our membership over the next two years to making our voices heard, setting our course of action, and changing our government. Together, as a team, we can steer the direction of our country for a brighter future for all.

At our December Holiday Party, we celebrated our 2018 accomplishments and elected a new board of directors to lead NWPC LA Westside in the coming year. Join us in welcoming our new leadership! Board of Directors
